Bank of america f&q

what were your RESPONSIBILITIES as an intern?

I helped on a couple of deals in different sectors. I would prepare slide decks to send to the team to be presented to the client, and coordinate with our co-advisors and Managing Directors to ensure the slide decks were up to par with their standards. I briefly also worked on a financial model to value one client's business, and would also track buyers for the deal and send updates to the team periodically on communications and status for each buyer on the deal. I would also take lots of call notes.

What was your favorite/most memorable part of your internship

Bank of America was the exclusive sell-side financial advisor to Norfolk Southern in their $85bn mega-merger with Union Pacific, creating America's first transcontinental railroad operated by a single company. Feeling the floor buzzing with excitement and reading up on the deal was very memorable and exciting!

Walk us through a day in the life of your internship?

Arrive at 8:30 am, slam 2 coffees. Then would look at all emails, most of them would not be addressed to me but it's interesting to hear the communications between clients and Managing Directors, as you can learn lots of interesting tidbits about their industry/how they think. Then I would usually have a bit of work at around 10-1, usually getting started on something due that day. At around 1 me and other interns would go to BofA cafeteria or Cava/Chipotle and get lunch. In the afternoon there would be more work and maybe one or two coffee chats, then in the evening at around 10 pm there would be more comments, and I would usually leave at around 11:30/12 back home.
